Dawn Christian Recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Information Technology
Ms. Christian's determination and compassion have enabled her to succeed as a project manager for the nation's largest nonprofit Catholic health care system

HOOVER, AL, September 9, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dawn Christian, Project Manager for Ascension Health Information Services, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in information technology. She has been named a VIP member for 2011-2012, designated as an Elite American Executive, and selected for inclusion in Cambridge Publishing's Calendar Series.

With 7 years of experience as a project manager for Ascension Health Information Services, Ms. Christian is responsible for ensuring that all assigned projects are completed on time, as well as conducting proper team staffing. She writes reports in Microsoft SQL and creates DTS packages so that the data can be imported into business intelligence software, including HBI and Hyperion. Ms. Christian has a strong background in the documentation of policies, procedures and visual presentations in an effort to educate others on how their actions affect both upstream and downstream executives. As a project manager for Ascension Health, she assists the organization in providing the highest quality care to all, paying special attention to the poor and vulnerable.

Dedicated to transforming health care, Ascension Health is the nation's largest nonprofit Catholic health system, and the third-largest system based on revenues. Ms. Christian was responsible for the information technology portion of bringing the 119 health facilities live and was a major participant in 13 core application changes in 2004. She has also implemented and administrated the materials management application and business intelligence applications.

Ms. Christian attributes her success to her determination, perfectionism, desire to excel, ability to think outside of the box, and patience. She became involved in her profession after starting her career as a secretary and working her way up the corporate ladder. When the director of information technology at St. Vincent's Hospital called looking for a secretary, it seemed like a dream job because she could simultaneously learn about computers and the hospital environment. The most gratifying aspect of her career is working with her team members as a family, instead of individual people. Empowering them to help themselves is very rewarding, and each project that comes to fruition is an accomplishment for all of them, as well as the patients.

Ms. Christian is a member of The Community For Entrepreneurs, Healthcare Technology Alliance, LLC, The Consultants Network, the Business Intelligence & Analytics Group, the Hyperion Users & Developers Group and Lean Enterprise Institute, Inc. In years to come, she hopes to obtain a Project Management Professional certification, an Oracle certification and a Microsoft SQL certification.
