Patricia Short Honored as Professional of the Year in Software Consulting
Ms. Short is a patient, flexible and adaptable entrepreneur with 12 years of direct experience in software consulting

COLUMBIA, MD, July 14, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Patricia L. Short, Owner of plshort, LLC, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who as a Professional of the Year for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in consulting services.

For the past 12 years, Ms. Short has evinced an expertise in analytical processes. As the owner of plshort, LLC, a software consulting firm, she configures software based on her clients' business models, implements different phases for clients to use, and troubleshoots setup and technical issues. She acquired the necessary skills for her profession through such previous roles as principal consultant for Oracle and senior consultant for J.D. Edwards. She has earned a reputation for being exceptionally patient, flexible and adaptable as a consultant, which has allowed her to excel in her current capacity as an entrepreneur. "I [strive] to give my clients the best return on their investment," she says, adding that she became involved in her profession because of her affinity toward computers in the business world.

The most gratifying aspect of Ms. Short's career is that she has not missed a go-live date or gone over budget on a project throughout her tenure. A certified consultant in human resources, payroll 8.12 and benefits, she has proved that her career is an extension of herself. Thus, she cites her education as the foundation for her career. "I enjoyed a computer class that I took in college . . . and [I] became increasingly enamored with what [they] could do," the University of Baltimore graduate notes. She earned a bachelor's degree in finance in 1971 and progressed through her industry to her position today.

Ms. Short is also deeply committed to helping others outside of work. She provides financial support to a church in Virginia because she is very impressed with the pastor's ministry and compassion; her donations enable the community to address its most pressing needs, whether they be paying electric bills and rent or buying diapers and formula. In addition, Ms. Short began supporting the work of a surgical group in Bangkok after she met the lead surgeon. The team provides free corrective surgery to many patients born with severe facial deformities, and Ms. Short's contributions help pay for their use of operating rooms, medications and anesthesia.
