Janet Horton Showcases Professional Brand through Cambridge Who's Who
Janet Horton excels in computer tech support and training, publishing, public speaking and seminars
LAKE CITY, FL. September 1, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Janet Horton, President & Chief Operations Officer of Columbia County PC Incorporated, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in business management.
As an entrepreneur for the past 50 years, Janet Horton does what entrepreneurs do; she listens, learns, and meets needs by founding businesses. Consequently, in 2001, she established Columbia County PC Incorporated in Florida, which now has three subsidiary operations: the Speakers Showcase, Computer Learning Center, and Seminars@Sea. She is responsible for managing all aspects of the businesses, including marketing, advertising, instruction and finances. She has consulted with local, county, state and federal governments, as well as private, industrial, commercial and retail businesses. As she explains, "It doesn't matter if it is safe boating, construction, software training, hardware tech support, public speaking on entrepreneurship, authorship or bullying, I step up to the plate." Through public speaking, her greatest enjoyment and pleasure, she educates. Her latest venture, Seminars@Sea, affords her the opportunity to do all the things she enjoys most -- traveling, educating by conducting seminars, and listening and learning from people.
Janet is also a writer, publisher, computer club host and the author of three non-fiction books: Marketing and Publishing a Manuscript, Because, It's Just Good Manners!, and Unlocking PC Mysteries. She also wrote and published a pictorial autobiography entitled Me, Myself, and I Surviving.
Janet enjoys giving back to the community. She is a past counselor and board member for SCORE, a past officer for the American Red Cross, and a past leader for the Cub Scouts of America and Junior Achievement. She is a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and Moose International Women of the Moose.
With the publication of Janet's latest book, Because, It's Just Good Manners! she challenged all students, nationwide, to practice good manners for one week. Janet also urged schools to participate in the challenge and made her book a "free" download, as an incentive. Recognizing the decrease of good manners and common courtesies practiced, is in direct proportion to the increase in violence, abuse, and bullying, Janet strives toward returning to basics through her "Bully Asset Awareness and Leverage" speaking engagements.
She is a member of the Florida Publishers Association, the Small Publishers Association of North America, the National Association of Professional Women, and The Foundation of Entrepreneurship. She is a Florida authorized state vendor as a training facility.
Janet was born in Kentucky but has been fortunate to have lived, worked or traveled in every U.S. state. She has visited four continents, and been around the world. In her spare time you can find her at the theatre, taking walks in quiet places, or reading a book.
Columbia County PC Incorporated is a publishing concern responsible for publishing articles and books. Seminars@Sea conducts seminars on cruise ships on topics such as Entrepreneurs@Sea and Authors@Sea. The Speakers Showcase is a registry and source for speakers and speaking engagements. The Computer Learning Center offers software training and tech support. For more information, visit http://columbiacountypc.org.
